Gulf County Beaches are CLOSED until 4/9/20.
They will re-evaluate on April 7, 2020.

There are currently several mandates out regarding traveling to the state of Florida.
Here are some of the links to the legal documents:

Beginning of COVID-19 Update #5

3/21/20
The emergency management meeting voted unanimously to
close the all Gulf County Beaches immediately for 7 days.
They will reevaluate at a 7 day increment. Next meeting is 3/27.
You can view the meeting here.

We are currently working on a week to week basis. All reservations from April 4 forward are still business as usual for the time being. We are listening to our local(gulf county), state (Florida), and Federal government and making the best call we can based on that information. The local BOCC will be having another meeting on 3/27. We will make a call with our best guess regarding 4/4 reservations after that meeting.

If you think you want or need to cancel please let me know as soon as possible and I will try my best to get your home re-rented. The sooner you let me know the higher likelihood I can get your week rebooked and you a refund. You can find your cancellation policy on your rental agreement.

Teresa's Beach Homes FAQ

What if/about?
I cannot answer questions that I don't have the facts on yet. There are currently no "IF THIS, THEN THIS." We are working with Gulf County, The State of Florida, and the Federal Guidelines & Mandates ONLY. No hypothetical situation questions, please. Things are changing very quickly right now.

Can I cancel?
Well yes, but there's more to that question. At this time we have not amended our cancellation policy for reservations after April 1. We will make that call if/when new guidelines, mandates, etc come out.

Are things open?
Yes. Businesses are OPEN they just might be operating in a different capacity than normal. Food employees are currently going through a screening process to come to work. Most places are doing TO-GO and/or Curbside PICK UP.

What about my final payment that is due?
I am not currently sending out reminders OR charging people their final payments. We are in a holding pattern waiting to see what happens when the 15 day discretionary travel guideline period is up(March31), if beach closures get extended (3/27), OR if new mandates come out before then. We will let you know when your new payment deadline is IF it has changed. As of right now I believe I will be modifying your payment due date to "30 days" prior to arrival. For all May rentals at the very least.

THANK YOU
for your patience.

Until the next update- stay safe & healthy. We'll talk soon.

-Terri

Still want to come to the beach? GREAT!

Things We are Doing to Ensure Your Safety

We already hold ourselves to a high cleaning standard, but are taking extra precautions to ensure that our homes are safe for our guests. We will be elevating our cleaning and sanitizing practices on all high touch surfaces including all switches, remote controls, knobs, etc. We normally clean all of these surfaces between each guest, but will take special care to ensure that all of these surfaces are wiped and/or sprayed with disinfecting agents between every guest. We also provide a bar soap at each of our sinks in our homes. Please ensure that your family is practicing heightened hygiene practices including washing their hands often.

Keep in mind that we also do not want to get sick. Our cleaners will be disinfecting their way into the homes to ensure their safety and yours! We are working hard to ensure that your vacations are safe!

In addition we ask that if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that you visit a doctor and refrain from traveling with the illness. Visit the CDC website for more information. www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html

If you experience symptoms while you are on vacation let us know as soon as possible so that we can provide you with instructions and so that our cleaners and staff can best prepare.

With this said please keep in mind that EARLY CHECK-INS are not possible. Our cleaning staff is now using every possible moment of their time to ensure that our houses are as sanitary has possible.

Do you still have groceries?

Our town is working very hard to keep food on the shelves! The Pig has announced that they are getting deliveries DAILY and restocking shelves as boxes come off the trucks. Our partners on Cape San Blas are doing very well too. Please be respectful and only buy what you need for your stay and not what you need for the next 6 months. Together we can all get through this and ensure that everyone has enough!

Are Restaurants Still Open?

Yes, restaurants are still open. All Florida bars are ordered to close at 5PM on March 17. Restaurants may operate at 50% occupancy and tables must be 6ft apart. Some restaurants are electing to close their dining rooms and offer Take-out or Delivery services only. Check their website or facebook page and call ahead for to-go services.

What if travel gets shut down?

I, simply put, cannot answer questions to things that haven't happened yet. We are doing our best to make decisions based on the current government guidelines and mandates. We will update you if/when your immediate vacation becomes impacted by our state or the federal government.
